Internet Basics

Tuesday, January 8th from 11-12 am.

This class will teach basic mouse skills & Internet navigation using Internet Explorer.

Intro to E-Mail

Tuesday, January 15th from 11-12 am.

Basic mouse and typing skills required. In this class, we'll go through the process of setting up a free e-mail address, and composing, sending, and checking e-mail messages.

All classes are FREE and advanced registration is required, You must have a valid Orange County Public Library card at the time of registration. Please call the Los Alamitos/Rossmoor Library at 562 430-1048 to register.

January is a time when most of us make New Year's Resolutions that we have every intention of keeping...we strive to eat better, to exercise more, improve our minds or be a little kinder to our friends and family members. We might also be thinking about how we can improve our lives and the lives of those we love. Finding simple solutions to improving the quality of our busy lives can be right under our noses. Taking the time to visit the public library, fill out a library application and find out what programs and services are available can change your life and the lives of those whom you love.

It's never too early to introduce your children to the joy of reading! Story time is a great way to encourage and foster reading readiness. Kids who come to the library for story time associate reading and books with fun and good times. Story time helps to increase children's vocabulary, improve language skills and expand their world . At story time, carefully selected age appropriate books, songs and fingerplays help a child develop print awareness and story structure. Story time is also a wonderful way to meet other parents and caregivers and to make lasting connections in the community.

The Los Alamitos/Rossmoor Library offers a variety of programs for young children including toddler story times, preschool story times, evening story time for families and a music and movement program for infants and toddlers. These programs are free. Resolve to join us this year for fun stories, silly songs, and arts and crafts. Happy New Year!

Using Quick Books - Bookkeeping Basics

Wednesday, January 23rd 6-9 pm

This is an introductory course meant for people contemplating buying and installing QuickBooks or for those who are in the process of installing it. The course describes the type of company for which QuickBooks is a good fit and for which it isn't. the content will show you the correct way to prepare your records with a program such as QuickBooks.

The workshop is presented by Richard C. Ginnaty, C.P.A. Prior to entering public accounting, Dick Ginnaty was Vice President and Controller for a $35 million multi-state, multi-company manufacturer of adhesives and coatings.
